Born and raised in Connecticut, Alison “A.J.” Walkley spent time as a health volunteer in Malawi, Africa, with the U.S. Peace Corps after graduating from Dickinson College with a Bachelor of Arts in Literature in 2007. She has four novels to her name: Choice (2009), Queer Greer (2012), Vuto (2013), and Straight Nate (2022).
A nationally-known bisexual activist, Walkley was one of 30 individuals invited to participate in the first White House Roundtable on Bisexuality in September 2013. Walkley was tapped to be a judge of the 2013, 2014, and 2015 Lambda Literary Awards as a result of her writing and activism. She has written for such outlets as The Huffington Post, CURVE Magazine, and been featured in Cosmopolitan Magazine as well.
Walkley currently works remotely for a marketing agency that focuses on campaigns that help change people’s lives for the better.
